Motorcycle Training

Motorcycle Training - The Conceptual Approach For Beginners

Motorcycle training is a splendid way to learn to ride motorcycles. It not only imparts the basic knowledge about machines but also imparts valuable information about safety tips and important techniques to control the motorcycles. After all, all machines require a little bit of training for running smoothly. A motorcycle is no exception.

The very first step of the motorcycle training is to obtain a provisional license. To ride a motorcycle on road there is a mandatory age restriction, usually 17, in most cases. Moreover, the rider should also have a driver's license that allows driving motorcycles on road. The rider must have any of the following;

  • A provisional driver's license with motorcycle entitlement
  • A full motorcycle license
  • A full car license, or
  • Full moped license

The next step is to take the compulsory basic motorcycle training that offers basic knowledge and operating techniques to a beginner. It is compulsory to proceed ahead in the motorcycle training program.

After getting the CBT, the learner can get a motorcycle for practice. The motorcycle can be bought, borrowed or hired from someone else.

The next step for the learner is to be insured. In most of the states, it is illegal to ride without having a proper insurance cover. To take a motorcycle on road, it is mandatory to be covered by insurance.

After being insured, the learner can practice riding motorcycles on road with an "L" plate. In some cases taking pre-test training can also be mandatory.

After the learner is able to ride motorcycles on road, it is time to read some books to learn about the highway codes. The learner needs to know the signs and symbols that are displayed on the road for safety and disciplinary matters.

Now, the learner would need to apply for the theory test. After taking and passing the test, the learner can go for the practical test. The theory test offers knowledge about road safety measures, legal guidelines and basic motorcycle handling measures.

After you have passed the theory test, apply for the practical test. This test checks the real motorcycle handling capabilities of the learner. However, to take this test, the learner must have completed CBT and the theory tests.

Passing the theory test entitles the learner to get a full license. This license is a mark that the rider is proficient in handling motorcycles on road. The "L" plate can now be dropped.

After you have a full license, it is your duty to ride responsibly and under the legal parameters set by the authorities. The motorcycle training has ended but you have to follow the rules lifelong.
